With proper diet, exercise and just as important, it is up to you to allow your entire system learn how to work in harmony. Think positive thoughts (Link to an excellent e-book to overcome stress (HERE).
Hang out with positive people, learn to trust that God can because we can not. And just as soon as you begin feeling better, slowly weed yourself off of any compounds, whether it be natural or synthetic. Just don't do it all at once, or you may throw your body into chemical sock.
If you need to return, return to the compound, but with the power of positive thinking "Faith" you can move mountains. Just don't try to move Mt Everest in one day, it may take two ; 0)
